Rife with double-crosses, suicides, and various other rock 'n' roll tragedies, the story of the Beatles-inspired group Badfinger has all the earmarks of a great work of sensational fiction. Sadly, it's all true. |
Compiled by director Gary Katz, Badfinger is a 58-minute video journey through the career of a very unlucky rock band. Hamstrung by label and managerial maneuvers, the band spiraled from the Top of the Pops to the bottom of the barrel in just a few short years, culminating in the suicides of bandmembers Pete Ham and Tom Evans.
Filmmaker Katz traces this terrible path by combining never-before-seen promotional films, live performances, and rare interviews with surviving members Joey Molland and Mike Gibbins.
